What we do

After a number of years of hard work, we have successfully demonstrated our solution to the avalanche of data network operators face: GAPP (GPU Accelerated Packet Processing).

By using GPUs, GAPP provides 10x IP packet processing, chip on chip, compared to high end CPUs, at a lower total cost of ownership. We do this by combining the commodity GPUs with our proprietary software.

Applications for GAPP range from network management to deep packet inspection to routing to network infrastructure hardware.

Other work

We are working on a new high-performance networking environment with a number of reusable libraries. Our target is to make efficient use of multicore architectures and provide easy and portable networking solutions that take full advantage of the underlying hardware. Our goal is to extend the mantra "write once, run anywhere" to high-performance computing and networking domains on multicores.

We are currently working on a new high-performance networking environment with a number of reusable libraries, among others:

  • re-configurable routing engine
  • fast access control list matching
  • parallel regular expression matching

 

Services

We run a commercial testbed in association with the University of Otago's Next Generation Networks and Services (ONGENS) facility, equipped with Sun UltraSPARC machines and 10Gbps Ethernet. We are interested in algorithm complexity analysis, algorithm and software optimisation, and performance testing.
